Karen Robinovitz got her start at Women’s Wear Daily, where she covered haute happenings and openings in New York for over three years. Robinovitz is a Contributing Editor at both Marie Claire Magazine and Elle. In addition, she writes high profile pieces for Harper’s Bazaar, the New York Post, the New York Times, Glamour, In Style, and Shop, Etc., a Hearst publication launching in September of 2004. Her work has also been featured in Details, Gotham, Hamptons, New York Magazine, TimeOut NewYork, Mademoiselle, and www.fashionwiredaily.com, where she penned a weekly fashion column called “Pulp Fashion,” amongst others.

Robinovitz’s first book, “How to become FAMOUS in two weeks or less” (Ballantine), a sassy hybrid of nonfiction personal essays and tongue-in-cheek self-help how-to tips, was released in July, 2003. Walt Disney Productions acquired the rights to produce a feature film, and Reveille, a Universal-based production company, acquired the reality TV show rights, with Ms. Robinovitz as a co-producer. Her second book, “The Fashionista Files:
Adventures in four-inch heels and faux pas” (Ballantine), which designers Michael Kors and Diane von Furstenberg, raved about, will hit shelves in September 2004, at the very same date as Ms. Robinovitz’s third book, “Fete Accompli! The Ultimate Guide to Creative Entertaining” (Clarkson Potter).

Robinovitz has been featured as an expert on CNN, VH-1, Good Day New York, Entertainment Tonight, ABC News, Fox News, the WB Morning Show, and morning shows across the country. Karen Robinovitz lives in New York City.
