Steve Boorstein, The Clothing Doctor®, spends his days helping people solve clothing problems; shopping, caring, cleaning and storing. However, he is also an expert on the care of household items such as tablecloths, draperies, bedspreads, quilts, furniture covers, tapestries, and other items made of fabric. In addition, Steve also addresses all aspects of shopping, caring, cleaning, altering and storing.

Steve has worn many hats during his 30 years in the clothing industry, working with some amazing people. Along the way, he has restored clothing for Lynda Carter, Hillary Clinton, and Elton John, two Chief Justices, sports team owners, and thousands of clothing lovers. Steve is also a top graduate of the International Fabricare Institute (IFI) and sits on the Board of IFI’s Award of Excellence program with Heloise and other clothing industry experts.

Beginning his professional life as a third-generation dry cleaner, Steve owned one of the most exclusive dry cleaners in the country. He went on to own a clothing store and to author the quintessential book about clothing care, The Ultimate Guide to Shopping and Caring for Clothing. He is also author to several other books such as The Clothing Doctor’s 99 Secrets to Cleaning & Care, The Clothing Doctor’s 99 Secrets to Drapery & Upholstery Care, and The Clothing Doctor’s Secrets to Bridal & Tuxedo Care. He has appeared on The View (with Barbara Walters), Good Day New York, CBS News, and has been interviewed in more than 150 newspapers and magazines. Steve also wrote and hosted a national radio show called The Clothing Doctor, in which he interviewed important and renowned fashion and clothing-care professionals.
